Welcome to #EwingUniverse. The only place where stars collide on earth.  We're creating memories WITH you, so when you're choosing outfits or shoes for the wedding, use our hashtag #EwingUniverse. We want to share the complete experience. We will also stream the ceremony and provide those details closer to the actual day.

A wedding experience like no other...

What do you get when a producer, a songwriter, and 2 engineers walk into a performance? Apparently SILENCE!

We met at a Muziqueen (a local music mogul and Kenon's sister) event, and no, sparks did not fly. While we were very pleasant with our hello's, it took several months of perchance meetings before we got a chance to know each other better. We worked in a music collective called Core4 and this is where the magic began. We were able to develop a great friendship and discover that we had so much in common.

Core4 planned a group outing that was supposed to start at a particular venue Kenon knew Trisha was NOT about to attend. Kenon reached out to Trisha, proposing they go to dinner before meeting with the whole group later in the evening. Kenon knew something was different because Trisha showed up in THAT outfit... you know the one ladies ;)!

We had an amazing dinner then went to the meet the rest of the group ... but it was clear, this was the start of FOREVER for us!

Our story

It was a holiday weekend (and Trisha's birthday). She always complained about her birthday being overshadowed by the holiday and Kenon was determined to change that... but being the planner he is, he asked her 3x, “You’re sure you’re not doing anything for your birthday?” Contrary to getting a "no, I have no plans," Trisha planned AN ENTIRE MYSTERY DINNER. Kenon's phone went off with confused texts from engagement surprise attendees. They weren't sure, 1) Which date the event HE contacted them about was happening on; 2) What Trisha's email/text was about; nor, 3) Which event they should go to. Needless to say, this, exponentially added to his stress level for the holiday weekend. Thanksgiving was that Thursday, Trisha's birthday and now Mystery dinner party *LOL* was Friday and her performance and surprise birthday party/engagement was Saturday.

Kenon intended to propose outside. There's a space downtown Nashville where evening lit pillars would illuminate Trisha's surprise and it would captured by Dante, Kenon's brother and best man. The monsoon that rolled through that evening had other plans. (Trisha likes to tell Kenon she would've gone outside that night, but every black man in America knows no black woman is willingly, voluntarily walking outside, especially for no urgent-building's-not-on-fire reason.)

Kenon (who used to be a rapper) is charismatic and always quick on his feet. While driving back downtown from Trisha's performance, he tried to call his fellow conspirators (best friend J. Baker + Dante). He called Baker right as he was in the elevator... so he couldn't call an audible with that on-the-ground coordinator. Anxiety flew high because then Dante called him. How would he get Dante to pivot to a new plan, without giving the plan away with Trisha sitting right next to him?

Luckily, every family has a secret language. Maybe it was the tone in Kenon's voice or the long drawn out spaces that alerted Dante that something else was about to happen -- whatever it was, he caught the code and hung out in the back of the lobby of the building.

There with Dante as the witness, Kenon got down on one knee, completely blindsided Trisha and asked her to go on the ride of a lifetime with him.

You've gotten this far in the story, so you know what came next. She said YES!

They flew up to the top floor of the high-rise and celebrated with family and friends.
